Te Tini a Māui Kapa Haka, a whānau-based Māori cultural group founded in Vancouver in 2009, has performed everywhere from BC Place to the Polynesian Cultural Centre in Hawaiʻi. Paul Latta Dance Studios, in Surrey, has been teaching since 1971 (as the school describes itself, Canada's first Polynesian dance company), and its Kumu Hula, Paul Tavai-Latta, holds Canada's only Master's-level qualification as Kumu Hula and Raʻatira (instructor/director).
